Your very own Counseling & Career Development Division hatched the idea for a CO Virtual Career Fair and it is happening THIS MONTH – way to go, CCD Division Officers! 🙂

This explorative  & informative fair for youth will feature career panels representing a wide variety of industries throughout the state. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for youth attendees, parents, educators, and potential career panelists via the website: www.youthcareerfair.org!

The Colorado Virtual Career Fair is a collaboration between the Colorado State Youth Council, Colorado Workforce Development Council, Colorado Association of Career & Technical Education, other Colorado professional education agencies & organizations; and many Colorado school districts.

The design of this fair has an intention of facilitating access and awareness of career path opportunities to students who may or may not have been able to access the options before. Beyond geographic location, beyond zip code, beyond regional location and beyond school district – students & families, youth & individuals of any age or grade level are welcome to attend. The CACTE online learning portal, Colorado CTE Learn (https://co.ctelearn.org) is dedicated to the online professional development and skill advancement of our career and technical education professionals throughout Colorado. What a great new member benefit! Colorado ACTE CTE Learn provides a large catalog (over 150) of online courses, free learning tutorials, a professional learning community (CareerED) and an interactive Individual Development Planner (IDP) that is easy to use and a valuable tool towards expanding high-quality CTE.

At the 2020 CACTE Virtual Summit, Andrea Bolton (D51 in Grand Junction) was named Career Guidance Award winner during the CACTE Excellence Awards presentation. Congratulations to Andrea for going above and beyond to serve the students of the Mesa Valley School District!

Exciting news! At the December 2019 ACTE Board meeting prior to VISION, it was approved to change the name of the Guidance & Career Development Division to Counseling & Career Development!

Your very perceptive Colorado Division leaders were planning to suggest this very name and discovered in Anaheim that is was already done – yay!
