When you attend NPS, you invest in our future by helping our leaders appreciate the critical importance of CTE nationwide.

WHY ATTEND THE 2012 NATIONAL POLICY SEMINAR?

    • We have the resources you need! At NPS, you will receive the latest news about the budget debates and other federal issues affecting CTE, as well as everything you need to advocate effectively.

    • We can strengthen our future! Together, we can protect the gains we’ve made and ensure the security of our livelihood.

  3. Colorado Creative Careers Festival in Denver on Friday, February 24, 2012

Check this out! A new Career and Technical Education Student Organization for

    Creative Careers Students!

Come and Join the New Student Organization and Creative Careers Festival February 24th

Creative Careers Festival in Denver on Friday, February 24, 2012 2012 Festival Theme: "The World Is Yours"

"The World Is Yours" theme provides a common idea for student to design, develop, and engage in various Creative Career categories. This common focus also frames the Festival day's events. This year, there are nine strand categories (Computer Animation, Film/Video, Graphic Design, Photography, Audio Technology, Technical Theatre, Web Design, Product Design, and Media Communications, plus a new Arts/Culture panel) and five student project submission categories (Web Design, Film/Video Production, Graphic Design, Computer Animation, and Photography). More information and official Guidelines will be posted in early November at the Festival website: http://www.coloradostateplan.com/artsAV.htm

Beyond this year's theme choice, "The World Is Yours" message engages students on both a personal and career level to imagine their future. It educates and guides them to consider and pursue creative career pathways with high market demand that require precise knowledge, skills, and CTE experiences. It adds valuable, real-world specifics to their high school Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAP). It challenges them to evaluate most recent research needs and job projections related to our state, national, and international workforce. It encourages them to 'think outside the box' for more efficient and effective products and solutions. And perhaps most of all, it conveys the excitement, opportunity and vision for proactively planning their unique roadmaps to achieve individual goals and dreams. Plan to join us on February 24th to contribute to the energy and synergy of this exceptional learning opportunity with other Colorado students, educators, industry and trade experts, and Creative Careers stakeholders across the state. This Festival day is planned with our students in mind, yet 'the world ahead' is both theirs and ours!

Registration for the Colorado Creative Careers Festival in Denver on Friday, February 24, 2012, is now open and you are invited to attend! Please refer to the registration information on the Festival website (http://www.coloradostateplan.com/artsAV.htm).  The Festival promotional video, flier, schedule, and map can be found here, as well as all workshop information (title, presenter(s), description, and time sessions offered).  You are encouraged to first read and print the appropriate set of registration instructions to expedite and streamline the registration process.  Individual adults may register for themselves, but only teachers, counselors, or administrators may register students.  The full day fee ($20 per person) includes lunch, all materials, and the evening reception event.  There is an evening reception-only option ($10) for parents and guests.  Please note that all educators, students, and chaperones will need to officially register.  Student project (whether submitted by individuals or small groups) and portfolio information (guidelines, requirements, submission details and deadlines, and evaluation checklists for feedback) is provided separately on the main Festival website.
