The CACTE Awards Program seeks to promote excellence in career and technical education by recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of career and technical education, programs which exemplify the highest standards, and organizations which have conducted activities to help promote and expand career and technical education programs.

AWARDS CATEGORIES
There are three categories of awards:

CACTE Excellence Awards are eligible to move on: awards where the state winner moves on for consideration at the Region V level
-
CACTE Awards: there is no corresponding regional or national award

CACTE Innovative Career & Technical Education Program - this state winner moves on to Region V

CACTE EXCELLENCE AWARDS
These awards are eligible for CACTE, Region V and ACTE (if named Region V winner)
level consideration and must be submitted online by June 6 via the
Colorado ACTE Excellence Awards Portal. Nominees and nominators must be CACTE
members.​ CACTE Excellence Awards recipients are eligible to move on to Region V.​

ACTE Teacher of the Year (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)
-
This award recognizes the finest career and technical teachers at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, a commitment to their students, and dedication to improving CTE in their institutions and communities. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.

ACTE New Teacher of the Year (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)
-
This award recognizes new CTE teachers who have made significant contributions to implementing innovative and unique career and technical education programs and demonstrated a professional commitment early in their careers. All candidates must be CTE teachers at the middle, secondary or postsecondary level as designated by the state agency overseeing CTE and be NEW to the teaching profession, with no more than five years experience at the time of initial nomination. This includes ANY teaching experience, whether in CTE or other settings. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.​

ACTE Administrator of the Year (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)

This award recognizes administrative CTE professionals at the school, district, county, state or federal level who have demonstrated leadership in ensuring teacher and student success and have made significant contributions to innovative, unique and effective career and technical education programs. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.

ACTE Postsecondary Professional of the Year (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)
-
This award recognizes the finest career and technical professionals at the postsecondary level who have instructed, educated, or provided guidance to students involved in career and technical education pathways, demonstrated innovation in the classroom, and exhibited dedication to improving CTE in their institutions and communities. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.​​​

​ACTE Counseling & Career Development Professional Award (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)

This award recognizes school counselors and career development professionals who have demonstrated commitment to connecting students with career exploration and development opportunities and have advocated for CTE as a viable option for all students. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.

ACTE Teacher Educator of the Year (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)
-
This award recognizes postsecondary teacher educators who are committed to preparing and supporting existing educators and college-level majors in delivering high quality CTE programs, demonstrating innovation, teacher education, and leadership in improving CTE. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.

ACTE Carl Perkins Community Service Award (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)
-
This award recognizes an individual who has significantly used CTE to impact their community positively and demonstrated leadership through programs and activities that promote student involvement, community service, and service-learning. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.

ACTE Lifetime Achievement Award (CACTE/Region V/ACTE)
-
This award honors CTE professionals who have demonstrated long-term leadership in support of ACTE, introduced innovative CTE practices, and made significant, lasting contributions to the field throughout their careers. Nominees must have been a member of ACTE/CACTE for a minimum of ten years. Nominee must be a current ACTE/CACTE member.

CACTE AWARDS
​Recognition is limited to the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education (CACTE); no further recognition at the regional or national level is available. Nominations must be submitted online by June 6 via the Colorado ACTE Awards Google Form. Nominators must be CACTE members.

​​The CACTE Friends of CTE Award recognizes an individual or agency outside the field of education that has contributed outstanding service and dedication in the promotion of career & technical education in Colorado and support to the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education and/or its affiliates.

CACTE Outstanding Career and Technical Education Student – Secondary
-
This award recognizes an outstanding CTE secondary student who has demonstrated leadership, growth, innovation, and accomplishment in knowledge, technical skills and career preparedness.

CACTE Outstanding Career and Technical Education Student – Postsecondary
-
This award recognizes an outstanding CTE postsecondary student who has demonstrated leadership, growth, innovation, and accomplishment in knowledge, technical skills and career readiness.

CACTE Exemplary CTE Alumni Award
-
This award recognizes an Exemplary CTE Alumni who illustrates the mission of CTE; who has made significant strides and shown professional commitment/promise early in his/her career. The person attributes at least some of his/her success to completion of a secondary and/or postsecondary CTE program and/or participation in a CTSO.

CACTE Outstanding Service By A Member Award

This award recognizes an individual CACTE member who has made a significant impact on and numerous contributions to career and technical education through active involvement in the professional organization of the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education and its affiliates.

The CACTE Hall of Fame Award is an honor of highest distinction bestowed upon those who have dedicated their lives to seeing the growth and success of Career and Technical Education in Colorado and either were/are members of Colorado ACTE. Persons in this category are those who have both history and vision for CTE and have made extraordinary contributions to the field. They were/are involved in all aspects of the profession from CTSO to professional organization and their legacy will continue far beyond their exit from the profession. One inductee annually may go on to Region V for the ACTE Lifetime Achievement Award.

CACTE INNOVATIVE CTE PROGRAM AWARD
This award is eligible for CACTE and Region V level consideration and must be submitted online by June 6 via the CACTE Innovative CTE Program Nomination Google Form.
Nominees and nominators must be CACTE members.​

​​The CACTE Innovative Career and Technical Education Program Award recognizes one innovative career and technical education program from Colorado per year that is unique, novel, and is serving to improve and promote the image of career and technical education.
